How We're Heading Back to the Future

TCS article by Glenn Reynolds is well worth reading. I agree with him that the trend of the future is toward more individual enterprises and less need for corporations for many things. While this will on balance be a good thing, it will cause a fair amount of disruption and insecurity. I have seen this coming trend used as a reason to support massive government 'safety net' programs like social security and socialized medicine. While I am not convinced, that is a very good argument. I still believe that free market solutions will provide more effieciency and thus help more people than government run programs, but we do need to address how to help those who fall through the cracks.
