Sudan said Wednesday that peace negotiations held in Nigeria to find a settlement in war-torn Darfur in west Sudan have collapsed.
Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Othman Ismail told a news conference in Cairo "the talks stumbled over security issues, notably the refusal by Darfur rebels to withdraw from populated areas simultanrously with the disarming of the Janjaweed militia."
