Fine for low-riding pants

CNN.com:

Virginians who wear their pants so low their underwear shows may want to think about investing in a stronger belt. The state's House of Delegates passed a bill Tuesday authorizing a $50 fine for anyone who displays his or her underpants in a 'lewd or indecent manner.'
I am no fan of the low riding pants look, but seriously, is this the most signifigant problem facing Virginia? Dumb.

Well, there's only one "most significant problem" in any state. Lots of stuff that wouldn't make that grade is still worth the legislature's time.

Someone should find out how much it costs to introduce a bill in Virginia. Paying the salaries of the people who research and draft it, printing, etc. Then ask, is getting people to pull their britches up worth that?

I'm guessing, no.

The obvious loophole in the law is to wear no underpants.
