Today of course is the anniversary of the Madrid Bombings. I want to express my condolences for the families of those who died in that tragedy. The Muslim of Spain have taken this tragic event and made something good out of it however, New York Post:

Muslim clerics in Spain yesterday issued what they called the world's first fatwa, or Islamic edict, against Osama bin Laden. The fatwa, on the first anniversary of the Madrid train bombings, called the terror lord an apostate and urged others of their faith to denounce the al Qaeda leader. The ruling was issued by the Islamic Commission of Spain, the main body representing the country's 1 million-member Muslim community. The commission represents 200 or so mostly Sunni mosques, or about 70 percent of all mosques in Spain.
Some have criticized the Spanish people for their choices following the Madrid bombing. We should be at least as loud in praising this brave decision by the Muslims of Al Andalus.

I watched news of Muslim leaders in Spain denouncing terrorism with a new sense of optimism. As cautious as I am, I think this and work on behalf of free-thinking Arabs such those who created a site I strongly recommend, ArabsforIsrael.com, may lead to a drastic change in the Middle East.
